The magical beach adventure
Have you ever been to a beach that feels like it’s hiding a secret? A place where the waves whisper, the sand shimmers, and the air is filled with just a hint of magic? Well, that’s exactly what happened to me and Bubbles on our latest adventure.
The Beach That Wasn’t on the Map
Mum took me to a tiny hidden beach that wasn’t on any map. The moment we stepped onto the soft white sand, I knew something was different. The air smelled salty and sweet, like the ocean had been mixed with something delicious. And the sea? It wasn’t just blue—it was shifting colors, like liquid rainbow glass.
Bubbles, who had never been to the beach before, was highly suspicious.
“This sand feels funny,” he muttered, sinking a little with each step. “And I swear the waves are watching me.”
I laughed. “You’re just imagining things.”
But then… the seashells started humming.
The Singing Shells and the Secret Tide Pool
I picked up a glowing pink shell, and as soon as I touched it, it started to sing—a soft, echoey melody, like the ocean itself was whispering a song. I held it up to my ear and heard a voice.
“Follow the tide, where the moonlight hides.”
I turned to Bubbles. “Did you hear that?!”
Bubbles’ eyes went wide. “I heard it. And I don’t like it.” He poked the shell suspiciously. “Are we sure it’s not a tiny mermaid trying to sell us something?”
“We have to follow the clue!” I said excitedly.
Bubbles sighed. “We really don’t.”
But of course, we did.
The Floating Island and the Golden Pearl
We followed the trail of singing shells until we found a hidden tide pool, tucked between smooth black rocks. But this wasn’t an ordinary tide pool.
Because inside, floating just above the water, was a tiny glowing island.
Bubbles gasped. “That’s not normal.”
He was right. The island was only the size of a dinner plate, but it hovered just above the water, shimmering like sunlight trapped in a bubble. And at its center lay a golden pearl, glowing softly.
I reached out, feeling the hum of the magic in my fingertips.
“WAIT!” Bubbles grabbed my sleeve. “What if it’s cursed?! What if we get turned into seagulls?! I refuse to be a seagull, Jen.”
I hesitated. Bubbles did have a history of being right about weird things.
But before we could decide, a wave lifted itself into the shape of a face—a woman’s face, with hair made of sea foam and eyes as deep as the ocean.
“You have found the Pearl of Tides,” she said, her voice rippling like water.
Bubbles shrieked and hid behind my leg.
“Cool,” I said, because what else do you say when a wave starts talking to you?
The woman smiled. “The ocean has chosen you. Take the pearl, and it will grant you a single wish.”
Bubbles peeked out. “Can we wish for pizza?”
The wave woman raised an eyebrow.
I grinned. “I think we should wish for another adventure.”
Bubbles sighed. “Fine. But next time, we definitely wish for pizza.”
And as I picked up the pearl, the magic of the ocean shimmered around us, ready to take us to our next great adventure.
The End… for now.
What do you think? Would you take the pearl? And what would you wish for? Let me know in the comments!
