Mums secret birthday surprise

Hi! It’s me, Jen!

Today was Mum’s birthday, and me, Dad, and Bubbles planned a top-secret surprise. We didn’t tell Mum anything. Just, “Wear comfy clothes and trust us!” She raised one eyebrow (she always does that when she’s curious), but she went along with it.

Operation Birthday Begins!

We woke her up with pancakes and a sparkly card (I added extra stickers AND glitter). Bubbles gave her a teeny tiny present – a pizza keyring he found in my drawer. He said, “It’s for when you miss real pizza,” which made Mum laugh.

Then we all got in the car. I was buzzing with excitement the whole way. Bubbles sat on my lap, wearing his secret agent sunglasses. He said it made him look “official.”

The Big Reveal

When we arrived, Mum looked around, confused.

“Where are we?” she asked.

I grinned and pointed at the HUGE letters on the building: iFLY.

She blinked. “Wait… is this the place where people FLY? In the air?!”

I nodded. “SURPRISE!”

She gasped, then hugged me and Dad tight. “You lot are mad… I LOVE it!”

Up, Up, and Away!

We got suited up in our flight suits and helmets. Bubbles stayed outside (he said the wind would fluff up his fur in a very un-stylish way), but he waved from the window and made silly faces to cheer us on.

Mum went first – and she was AMAZING! She looked like a flying superhero. Then it was my turn. I was a bit nervous, but as soon as the wind lifted me up – WOW. It felt like floating in a dream, like being in a bubble made of air.

Mission Accomplished

After our flights, we had cake and hot chocolate in the café. Bubbles got a special biscuit (he didn’t eat it though – he says biscuits are suspicious). Mum kept smiling and said, “This is the best birthday I’ve had in ages.”

And that made my heart feel floaty too.

Final Thoughts from Bubbles:

“Flying is cool, but watching Jen and her mum laugh together was even cooler.”
